16' Doughdish
Built by Edey and Duff on the classic lines of Nat Herreshoff's 12 1/2. Brought in for refinishing and upgrading the hardware.
Timing is everything. In my well over 30 years of building and restoring wooden boats, I believe this is the first fiberglass boat I've accepted. The design has been tested and true for neraly a century , it's a finite project that can be wheeled out before the snows and, well, I can learn something. It is nice having it next to the Newfoundland Seal Hunting Skiff replica being built, giving me ideas on fitting and rigging out the new boat.
