Newfoundland Seal Hunting Skiff

Under Construction, June of '09.  From Chappell's American Small Sailing Craft.  c. 1870

   - 17' x 4'9", jib and sprit main, three rowing stations, decks and combing.

   - Transom stern, raked ends, strong sheer and a nice long run.

   - Western red cedar carvel planking over white oak frames.  Copper rivets, bronze bolts.

   - Timbers sided 1 3/4" white oak.

The Seal Skiff is being built between various projects in and out of the shop as time, money and energy allows.

It's a very nice design and one I am enjoying building.

Current updates on Facebook page; still building boats
